A modern and collaborative working environment
Valmet is a global technology company that provides process technologies, automation solutions and services to the pulp, paper and energy industries, among others. The company has a long history of industrial innovation and a strong position in international markets.
When several Valmet sites were combined into a new multi-storey office in Tikkurila, the aim was to create a modern, efficient and collaborative working environment. The new facility employs around 850 people and covers an area of 13 500 m². The interior design and furnishing was done by interior design office Gullstén-Inkinen Oy, whose design process focused on supporting the transfer of tacit knowledge and improving the use of space as teleworking increases. To support these objectives, INTO Concept furniture was selected to POD ROLL meeting rooms, TOP LIFT tables and POINT sofas.
Multi-purpose and comfortable spaces
INTO the Nordic Silence family of products furniture found its place in the staff canteen, floor cafés, meeting rooms and waiting areas. In particular, the new staff restaurant was designed to be multi-purpose, with the aim of creating a flexible environment for teamwork outside lunchtime. To this end, the restaurant was equipped with INTO's POD ROLL meeting rooms and POINT sofas, which were tailored to match Valmet's brand image.
Each floor café had its own theme, and their interior design was inspired by INTO's TOP LIFT tables and POINT sofas. The aim of the cafés was to encourage staff to move between floors and meet colleagues from different teams, thus strengthening a sense of community and cooperation.
Result
Valmet's new multi-space office offers an inspiring and practical working environment, with spaces that support a variety of different forms of work, from concentration and quiet information exchange to collaboration and relaxed encounters. INTO Concept's adaptable and customisable furniture was an integral part of the overall solution, which combines functionality, comfort and the company's brand image.
User experience confirms that the facilities and furniture serve their purpose well:
